In April 2022 I had finished my first book FEND, a project that had dominated my year and required a large amount of personal creative energy. I expected to collapse in a heap after it was done, having spent day and night getting the FEND project over the finish line. But, my burnout wouldn’t be until a year later. I had been enjoying webcomics that were being made on IG by several artists - comics that were not really intended for print publication, but to be enjoyed digitally using the then-novel IG format of their main posts: ten swipe-able images. At first it was to be an open-ended, chill, funny, lighthearted nonsense story, but after a few episodes it got away from me…. more to come…
